Being honest isn't degrading. Yes, there's a risk of him not liking you as much (or at all) as you like him. If he is a good person then he will appreciate your honesty even if he cannot reciprocate in the way that you would like. But at the very least you won't be worrying about what-ifs anymore. Personally I think a girl who tells a guy she likes him has guts and will have my respect.
